Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL)
The AADL program helps Albertans with a long-term disability, chronic illness or terminal illness to maintain their independence at home, in lodges or group homes by providing financial assistance to buy medical equipment and supplies. An assessment by a health care professional determines the equipment and supplies that an Albertan can receive through this program. More…

Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH)
The Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) program provides financial and health-related assistance to eligible adults with a disability. The disability must be permanent and substantially limit the person’s ability to earn a living. AISH clients may also be eligible to receive supplemental assistance (a child benefit and personal benefits) through the AISH program. More…

Persons with Developmental Disabilities
The Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) Program is a provincial government program that provides funding for staff supports for adult Albertans with developmental disabilities.

The PDD Program works with others to support adults with developmental disabilities to be included in community life and be as independent as possible. The program is administered and governed by six community boards. Funding is provided to support individuals in their home, work and social environments based on individual need. These services supplement the support of family, friends and community members and assist the individual to live as independently as they can in the community. More…

Residential Access Modification Program (RAMP)
RAMP is a program available to eligible wheelchair users to modify their home to be more wheelchair accessible. Applicants can apply for a RAMP grant for up to $5,000. More…

Special Needs Assistance for Seniors
The Special Needs Assistance for Seniors program is available to help seniors with the cost of appliances, minor home repairs and some medical costs. Only one-time extraordinary expenses are funded. The program provides a lump-sum payment to eligible low-income seniors. The maximum assistance available is $5,000 in a benefit year (July 1 to June 30). More…

The Watson Family Fund specifically provides financial assistance to families caring for their children with special needs. The Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) Program provides a broad range of proactive and family-centered supports that assist families to care for and promote the healthy growth and development of their child with a disability. The Program provides funding to families to assist with some of the extraordinary costs of raising a child with a disability.
